#MiaMonday – More Mia, please!

Mia Diaz

Mia Diaz

At only 12-years-old, Mia Diaz has made her way onto magazine spreads, has performed on stages all over the US, and starred on the popular TV series Dance Moms: Miami. With all of those achievements, the dance world is starting to chant “We Want More Mia!” Well, we are so pleased to announce that this spectacular young dancer is the official spokesmodel of the Heartless Romantics dancewear clothing line!

Mia’s amazing talent is something that has been recognized at a very young age. At the age of 8, Mia won every regional competition that she attended. She went on to win her first National Championship, which was the highest scoring solo ages 8 and under. The Miami native has continued to “wow” crowds with her explosive performances earning herself national titles year-after-year.  She has continued to build an inspiring and positive presence in the dance world which has given her plenty of philanthropic opportunities. Last year, Mia was chosen as one of the featured dancers, alongside other all-star dancers such as Sophia Lucia, Autumn Miller, and Hayden Hopkins, in the KARtv Dance Awards and Benefit Show in the breathtaking “Circle Of Hope” number, which was dedicated to cancer survivors. See performance here:

With quite a busy schedule juggling school, dance training, photo shoots, and being a normal pre-teen, we were lucky enough to chat with Mia and her mom on their way to Disney World to see how she felt about this new and exciting opportunity and more!

How do you feel about this opportunity?

– I feel so honored!  Thank you guys so much!

According to research, it says you started dancing at 2 ½ years old. What’s your first memory of dancing?

Mia: love contemporary and musical theater. I like contemporary because you can express your feelings in it.  I love musical theater because I love to perform and act.

– How did being on TV change your life?

Mia: Well, I made a lot of friends and had a lot of support to get to where I am now. And now, I have a good image.

– You’re a very busy young girl. How do you manage time?

Mia: Well, I have a calendar… I have dance every day. I had school today. I had my photoshoot yesterday. I don’t know. I just do it.

– Biggest accomplishment?

Mia: That would be the endorsement deal with you guys. 🙂

Mia: I just love it.

– You gotta love what you do, right?

Mia: Yup! I just really love it.

– In about 10 years, where do you see yourself?

Mia: Dancing. Acting. Modeling. Singing. I really love doing all of that.
